I can not fathom the idea that this house used to be the home of two lucky slave families on the Destrehan Plantation in New Orleans. I say Lucky because this was better than most of the northern slaves. This and all of the structural buildings at Destrehan survived the devastation of hurricane Katrina.
Lord Destrehan was the recipient of the papers from Jefferson and Napoleon
